We love people and we love to cook, so
now that we are "retired" we have decided to
return to what we love best, running an inn!
We have over ten years experience in the bed
and breakfast/inn business and look forward
to many more.
We started with a small, three room
homestay in Connecticut where we managed out
first inn from top to bottom. From there, we
headed south to the North Carolina shore
where we owned and operated our very own
establishment, The Beacon House Inn, which
included nine rooms and a three bedroom
cottage.
Moving inland to escape the hurricanes,
Peg became an office manager for a local
church in Wilson, NC and Jerry became
involved in tax preparation. He managed the
tax office for seven years before venturing
out on his own. He is retired from the Navy
after spending 20 years in the submarine
service.
After receiving a call of distress, we
stepped in at Miss Betty's Bed & Breakfast
Inn in Wilson, NC. We agreed to stay for 2 -
4 weeks and wound up there for 14 months! We
stayed on while new owners bought the
property (now the Whitehead Inn), completed
extensive renovations and transitioned into
innkeepers! We still go back periodically
and inn sit. Now we are on to other inns and
having a wonderful time as we travel to
different locations.
Getting "back in the saddle" has made us
both realize innsitting is just the right
fit for the two of us and that we love
absolutely every minute of it.
Also, we have acquired quite a reputation
for our gourmet breakfasts. Our belief is
that anyone who stays at a bed and
breakfast/inn should never go hungry and
that the food should be served special. It
should be something they would not make
themselves or can be found in a restaurant.
We plate and serve our food to each guest to
ensure the freshest breakfast possible.

Toasted Almonds and Sour Cream
- Baked French Toast with Cinnamon Vanilla
Sauce (made with Jerry's homemade bread)

with Strawberry Sauce
The two of us are computer literate and
experienced office managers.
We are presently looking to run an inn,
large or small, for a few weeks at a time.
We would prefer a short contract due to the
fact we are "supposedly" retired. We are
ready and willing to travel anywhere within
the United States or Canada. We are looking
forward to working with you!
